Stone and Glass, “blue sky reaper”

In my upcoming solo show I have utilised glass, metal, stone and wood to create material conversations that lend voices to the core subjects of my practice. I have been developing this vissual language since “The breaking of a Kouze” during my MA.

I now have a piece “blue sky reaper” that uses similar interlocking techniques to embed a glass military drone in a stone cloud. I have joined these two pieces in a cold state, however I wish to return to my material experimentation to work with both of these materials in a hot state.

Whilst taking an intensive course in glass hollow sculpting with Martin Janeckey at the Corning Museum of Glass in New York, I have met glass artist Viviana Stroede who has just now started a new course on Stone X Glass at Berlin Glass and School of Sculpture. I want to get in touch with her to share our findings so far and possibly attend the course to continue my R&D.
